About The Japanese Society of Conservative Dentistry
Background
The Japanese Society of Conservative Dentistry, founded in 1955, is made up of specialists from all dental schools in Japan. Our members also include private and hospital dental practitioners. We remain the only dental society that covers the whole area of conservative dentistry, i.e., operative dentistry, endodontics and periodontology, in Japan.

The society had 4,496 members including 76 honorary members as of 31 January 2021
General assembly
General Membership Meeting is held once a year in conjunction with the spring scientific meeting. Extraordinary Membership Meeting may be held in conjunction with the autumn scientific meeting.

Bulletins/Journals/News
"The Japanese Journal of Conservative Dentistry" is issued in February, April, June, August and October.
English journal "Operative Dentistry, Endodontology and Periodontology (ODEP)", will start publishing from December 2021.
The Journal publishes original research articles, review articles and case reports related to operative dentistry, endodontics and periodontology.

Dental specialist system
The system for accredited specialist has been continued since 1991, to improve the quality in the area of conservative dentistry.
International exchange
The Japanese Society of Conservative Dentistry (JSCD) signed a friendship agreement with the Korean Academy of Conservative Dentistry (KACD) on 1997. According to this agreement, international joint meetings are held every year, alternately in Japan and Korea.
